Large UK online gambling group Sky Bet has launched a widespread TV
advertising campaign to reinforce the connection between between it and Sky
Sports, in response to the huge growth of online gambling in the United Kingdom
and beyond.
The Yorkshire-based Sky Bet - which is the betting arm of BSkyB - launched
the new multi-million pound marketing campaign last weekend with the aim of
raising awareness of the company and its link to Sky Sports - a major TV sports
brand name in the UK.
The betting group has also said that it has created several new job vacancies
in anticipation of a growth in traffic. At present, Sky Bet employs 260 people -
40 of whom joined the company in the last 12 months - and expects to hire even
more staff with the expected expansion.
Sky Bet is currently based in Leeds and occupies the ground floor of
Wellington Place in the city. The company has intentions to expand to the first
floor of the building as well, a move no doubt based on how successful the Sky
Bet advertising campaign turns out to be.
"We have seen good growth over the last couple of years, with the move to
Leeds helping that," said the Managing Director of Sky Bet, Richard Flint. "We
are growing our turnover and customer base by 30-40 percent each year. We have
plans for further expansion but it's unclear how many people we will need to
take on."
Ad Reinforces Link Between Sky Bet and Sky Sports
Flint noted that the advertising campaign is bigger than any other one done
in the past by the group. "It's a very professionally produced brand advert that
reinforces the link between Sky Bet and Sky Sports which we have never done
before," he said.
