Chelsea Football Club needs to muster every inch of discipline and talent it
has ahead of a crucial match against Valencia on December 6th, if the team wants
to make it through to the knockout stages of the UEFA Champions League football
tournament.
The Blues are literally at knife's-edge to get any further in the
competition, and they will have to prove their worth from the moment the game
begins at Stamford Bridge in London at 20:45 on Matchday 6 of the Champions
League.
Chelsea will only make it through to the final sixteen stage if they beat or
manage a no-score draw against the Spaniards.
Chelsea find themselves in this position after losing to the German Bayern
Leverkusen in the group stages, with a score of 2-1 this week.
This was Chelsea's fourth defeat in the past seven games, and the team
clearly has to improve dramatically if it wants to get further in the
competition.
Speaking about the team's loss to the Germans, coach Andre Villas-Boas said:
"It was a game which was heading for a 1-1, big chances for both teams, but I
think we had a good share of chances in the first half and the second half."
"Not good football was played by any of the teams, which was in the end a
pity but that's not what matters today," he said. "What matters is that
Leverkusen takes three important points which will change the nature of the
group and we go to our last game against Valencia to decide our qualification."

With such incredible pressure on Chelsea, we can see one of two things
happening in its match against Valenica on December 6th - the team will either
buckle, or it will fight back and get through to the knockout stage of the
competition.
If Chelsea FC does decide to fight back however, it needs to remember who its
opponent is. As a reminder, Valencia thrashed Genk 7-0 at Stamford Bridge this
week, crippling the Belgians.
In the meantime, Barcelona is still the firm favourite to win the UEFA
