Janet Devlin was once the favourite to win the X Factor UK 2011 and take home
the top title, but that was before the flame-haired teenager from Ireland forgot
her lyrics and was booted due to a lack of votes.
17-year-old Devlin, a crowd favourite right until the very end. After judge
Kelly Rowland abstained from voting for either of her acts, it came down to a
tense sing-off between Devlin and rival Misha B, and it was Devlin who soon
found herself out in the cold.
But while Devlin may be out of this year's X Factor, many leading UK sports
betting sites have not given up on her just yet, as many have opened betting
lines on her chances of making it big in the music industry.
For instance, Paddy Power, the well known Irish land and online sports
betting group, is offering odds of 7/4 that Devlin will have an Irish No. 1 hit
by the end of next year, while odds of 5/2 are being offered that she'll have a
UK No. 1 single in the same time frame.

Bet on X Factor Outright Winner
In the meantime, bets are still on for the outright winner of this season's X
Factor, with Little Mix moving closer than ever to take the title with odds of
5/4.
The girl band was saved by the viewers who backed their move through to the
semi-finals, through a massive wave of voting this week.
Close behind is Marcus Collins with odds of 13/8.
Behind the scene reports show that the four finalists, which also include
Amelia Lily (5/1) and Misha Bryan (9/1), are reportedly no longer on speaking
terms as the tension of the last few weeks has taken hold of them.
"The claws are out," one 'insider' is quoted as saying in a recent rag
interview. "The guys can taste the final and they've stopped talking to each
other."
He said that none of the competitors are even willing to talk about their
planned acts and "they've been locking doors just in case another act tries to
walk in."
