In September this year, a 20 year old Norwegian student made history by
winning the biggest ever online slots jackpot.
The young man pocketed €11.7 million after playing the Mega Fortune slot game
at Betsson online casino, a gambling site that works off the Net Entertainment
casino software platform.
This week, the massive payout was officially recognised as the largest
jackpot payout made by an online slots game, after the Guinness Book of Records
gave it the thumbs up.
The official entry into the book of records reads: "The largest jackpot
payout in an online slots game is €11,736,375, won by a player on Betsson.com on
the 'Mega Fortune' game paid to an anonymous player in Norway, on 24 September,
2011."
The online casino software provider Net Entertainment and Betsson.com were
both named in the landmark payout by the record book.
The Betsson Casino jackpot world record was won by the student who
returned from a night out and decided to play a few games at the online casino
before he turned in for the night.
The player tried his luck on the Mega Fortune slot game and within a short
while found himself the winner of the biggest ever jackpot paid out on an online
slot machine.

The Head of Betsson.com, Huw Thomas, said that he wasn't entirely surprised
about the world record status awarded to the Netent powered online casino.

Guinness World Record is a great accolade for the site and surefire stamp of

matter how big they are."
