an exciting new mobile offering, and Microgaming casino software provider will
supply the first games for this new platform.
Virgin Games worked together with Somo, a mobile marketing agency, to come up
with a product that will suit its players who demand excellence, even when
gambling on the go. And the results was the new Virgin Casino Mobile platform.
The initial games on the Virgin mobile casino site will be supplied by
Microgaming, and will include such popular titles as Tomb Raider video slots and
Thunderstruck video slots.
The games will be made available through Microgaming's Quick Fire integration
process.
Virgin Games said, however, that it will also be incorporating titles by
other software groups on the new Virgin Casino Mobile, as it currently does on
its online casino.
Players will be able to use their online accounts to pay for their mobile
gaming as well, making for seamless payment options across Virgin's online
casino, online poker, online bingo and now mobile brands.
"With Smartphone penetration now exceeding 40% in the UK, customers want and
expect to be able to do on their phone what they do on their PC," said the Chief
Executive Officer of Virgin Games, Simon Burridge. "With the launch of Virgin
Casino Mobile we're simply responding to this demand."
"While the gaming industry has been on the cusp of a mobile revolution for
some time, 2011 has really been the year when the planets have aligned to make
mobile gaming a more attractive proposition," he said.
Right Time to Introduce Virgin Casino Mobile
Burridge also explained that Virgin Games considers it the right time in the
company's "life" and the industry's "life" to introduce a mobile platform, and
stressed that it was important for Virgin Games to follow its own philosophy of
being a "customer-centric brand."
"We put customers at the heart of what we do and the mobile launch is yet
another example of this," he said. "We can't afford not to do this - it's what
our customers want and it's where the online gaming industry is heading."
The CEO of Microgaming, Roger Raatgever, speaking about the deal for
Microgaming to power the new Virgin Casino Mobile, said that his group was
happy to continue expanding its strong share in the mobile market by providing
Virgin Games with its suite of mobile content through Quick Fire.
"Microgaming has the strongest portfolio of Flash assets in the industry and
our slick, user friendly content is sure to be a big hit with Virgin Games'
fans," he said.
