According to a recent press release, the eCOGRA Board is set to be
streamlined and restructured, a move that follows hot on the heels of the recent
takeover of the organisation by a new management.
Accordingly, Michael Hirst OBE, Frank Catania, and Bill Galston OBE will no
longer be in the eCOGRA Board with effect from Dec 31, 2011.
After the restructuring, eCOGRA's new board will comprise Andrew Beveridge as
the chief executive officer (CEO) and Tex Rees, both of who have been with the
eCOGRA management since 2003.
Speaking about the recent developments, Andrew Beveridge said that he is
grateful to Frank, Bill, and Michael for the active role they played in the
establishment of eCOGRA and for making it a prestigious independent online
gambling standards and testing organization. He also acknowledged their role in
bringing the company to its current status.
eCOGRA's Future Plans
Speaking further, Beveridge said that he looks forward to the next phase of
the company's growth, during which the management intends to utilize its
experience in providing services to various jurisdictions while simultaneously
maintaining its unique eCOGRA seal, which assures 100 percent security and
protection to players on approved online gambling sites.
Besides, eCOGRA also announced an updating and revision of its Generally
Accepted Practices (GAP)so that they match
the regulations of the European Union (EU). The major nine points in GAP have already been changed. Over 150
online gambling sites use the GAP to provide fair and safe online gambling
services to players all over the world.
eCOGRA is an organization based in London, which establishes standards for
the online gambling industry and suggests an operational framework that ensures
player protection, responsible gambling, and fair gambling. The organization
enforces its standards and requirements via reviews, inspections, and non-stop
supervision of various online gambling sites seeking the eCOGRA seal and
certification.
All software operators and firms can apply for accreditation, and once
accredited, they can display eCOGRA's fair and safe seal on their websites, to
serve as an indicator to players that all the games and operational systems on
the sites adhere to the strictest standards of online gambling.
The eCOGRA seal also indicates that gambling is 100 percent fair on the site,
that all software is constantly supervised to ensure the highest standards, and
that players can use the independently managed player dispute resolution centre
should they need to.
