On Sunday, January 15 at 6:00 pm, Arsenal take on Swansea in Wales in
a very important match for the London side, as a win would bring them a step
closer to entering the top four of the English Premier League standings.
After scoring the winning and only goal during their FA Cup matchup against
Leeds at the Emirates, legendary Arsenal striker, Thierry Henry more than proved
that he still has what it takes to score goals when it counts. As such, Arsenal
manager Arsene Wenger will be looking to the newly hired Henry to pull out the
stops against Swansea this weekend.
If the new season has shown anything it is that there are no easy games in
the Premier League anymore. Arsenal's 2-1 defeat at Fulham proved that point
very clearly, and if Wenger expects his side to feature in the UEFA Champions
League next year, then he and his side need every point they can get.
The Liberty Stadium has proven to be a very tough venue so far this season
and despite the fact that Swansea are in their first season in the Premier
League, they are sitting pretty in the middle of the table. So far only
Manchester United has managed to beat them in their home ground, which means
Arsenal will have their work cut out.
When Swansea took on the Gunners at the Emirates, they lost 0-1 thanks to a
very late goal and they will be looking for the chance for revenge when they
host the Gunners at their home ground on the 15th.
With the addition of Henry and Robin Van Persie, Swansea are still in for a
very tough match indeed. All things considered, this is going to be a very
exciting match with the bookies giving good odds for a draw and aren't expecting
Arsenal to lose in what would be a pretty big upset.
Swansea Confident Says Star Neil Taylor
The bookies views haven't deterred anyone at Swansea who seem to
be anxious for a win over one of the major Premier League teams. The Swan's star
defender Neil Taylor thinks that the time has come for a big win saying "It's
about time we won a game against one of the top teams."
Time will tell whether Swansea are able to pull off a win
against the Gunners, particularly with a rested Van Persie back in play. Check
