Last week, after a triple rollover, the EuroMillions lottery jackpot was
finally won, resulting in one lucky UK couple bagging a staggering £41 million.
Due to the huge payout last weekend, sales for the EuroMillions draw are
reportedly sky high, with players hoping to win their own multi million dollar
figures and become instant millionaires in tonight's draw (Friday, January 27).
Tonight's EuroMillions draw has an estimated £22 million jackpot and there is
still plenty of time to get your hands on a £2 ticket.
EuroMillions lottery sales were up, after last week's £41 million
prize was won by Catherine and Gareth Bull, a UK couple in their thirties with
two young sons.
Despite their incredible win, the down to earth couple say that they don't
have plans to move out of their current home, although Catherine wants to change
her upstairs carpet as "it's a terrible state." The pair also said that they
had no plans to quit work.
More poignantly, the couple have vowed to donate a significant amount to
breast cancer charities after Catherine Bull's mother suffered from the disease
several years ago and has since recovered.
Catherine Bull dashed any fantasies other women might have about going on the
ultimate shopping spree with their new found fortune. "I have never been much of
a shopper and I can't see that changing now," she said. "I already have home
food delivery from Tesco because I hate shopping. And I have no style sense. I
usually wear leggings and jeans."
Couple are 7th Biggest UK Lottery Winners
The £41 million prize won by the Bulls is an enormous amount,
but is 'only' the seventh biggest lottery windfall overall in the UK.
In terms of lottery winners in the UK, the biggest lottery win
to date was recorded by Colin and Chris Weir who won £161 million last year,
followed by an anonymous winner who took home £113 million.
The third largest jackpot was handed to Dave and Angela Dawes in
October last year, who won over £100 million, while the fourth biggest prize was
an £84 million payout to an anonymous UK lottery player.
The fourth largest payout was recorded as Nigel Page and Justine
Laycock's win, after the Gloucestershire couple won £56 million, breaking the
then-record.
The prize which was recorded as higher than the latest win, went
to Les and Sam Scadding of South Wales who won £45 million in 2009.
Players wanting to get their hands on tonight's EuroMillions
jackpot of an estimated £22 million should hurry and purchase their tickets
online now.
