Betfair Plc. has announced the release of its new betting application for
iPad users. The iPad App can now be found at the Apple store and, according to
the online gambling group, improves the player's game experience significantly.
This marks the first application that comes out of Betfair's new San
Francisco based development offices, which are headed by ex-Yahoo! executive,
Raj Vemulapalli.
"This app is a game changer for our customers, offering them a betting
experience that replicates the fixed web, whilst making use of the unique
features available on iPad," said Vemulapalli. "Mobile is the coming force in
the betting industry, and the shift from online to mobile is in many ways more
exciting than the shift from offline to online."
New Betfair iPad is Feature-Rich
The new Betfair iPad App boasts a number of excellent new
features which will enhance the betting options available to players.
These include betting options that are available on the Betfair
website, and easy, seamless access to the site. Players will still be able to
enjoy all the insights and tips offered by Betfair's leading team of analysts,
brought to their fingertips through software developed especially for their
tablets.
Other good features include the improved options to deposit and
withdraw funds, giving players peace of mind and the chance to concentrate more
on their betting experience and less on their finances.
Betfair Recognises Growth of Mobile Gambling
Last year, Betfair launched an improved application for iphone
users, after recognising that mobile users were increasing in numbers. It was
recently shown that over 40% of all Betfair customers have placed a wager using
a mobile device, calling for an improvement to the group's mobile platforms.
In Betfair's interim financial results which were released to
the industry in December last year, it was shown that over £800 million worth of
wagers had been placed using a mobile device in the past six months. In fact,
mobile bets grew so much that Betfair was able to report that its first half
mobile revenues had climbed by 88%.
It took just two months to develop the latest iPad app in the
San Francisco facility.
"I hope this is the first of many US developed products which
will extend our lead in the online betting space," noted the Chief Technology
Officer for Betfair, Tony McAlister.
