The Jockey Club Racecourses group announced that it had signed a lucrative
deal with the global betting exchange operator, Betdaq.
The Dublin-based betting group will extend its sponsorship of the UK horseracing
giant in a six figure deal that will see both sides benefit.
The Group Managing Director for The Jockey Club, Paul Fisher, said: "We are
delighted to have come to his agreement with a high profile betting exchange in
Betdaq, which is demonstrating its continuing commitment to British
horseracing."
He said that as a group, The Jockey Club can offer major partners the scale
they are looking for and was looking forward to the ongoing partnership.
The announcement that Betdaq was extending its Jockey Club sponsorship
means that ten out of the latter's fourteen racecourses will be included in the
deal. In addition, this will be the second year that Betdaq will support
midweek flat racing at Surrey's Kempton Park.
Banners bearing Betdaq's logo will be displayed at seven of The Jockey Club's
courses, including in Exeter, Market Rasen, Warwick, Carlisle, Wincanton,
Nottingham and Huntingdon.
Betdaq will also continue to sponsor the prize that is awarded to the stable
staff of the best trainer from 156 races run during the sponsorship period. The
amount awarded to the staff is currently £5,000.
The Irish betting exchange operator will also continue to support the
Apprentice Series running which takes place at Haydock Park for four months, May
to September.
Betdaq Brand to be Displayed at Racecourses
The Marketing Director of Betdaq, Shane McLaughlin said: "We are
very happy to bring all of Betdaq's sponsorship and hospitality activities with
The Jockey Club racecourses into a single group wide deal."
McLaughlin said that the racecourses and facilities under The
Jockey Club banner are "the perfect arena for us to present our brand" and he
added that Betdaq was delighted to be able to continue to support British
horseracing through the extension of the sponsorship contract.
"We are especially pleased to continue the Kempton Park award to
stable staff who are often the unsung heroes and heroines of the horseracing
industry, working many unsocial hours looking after the equine stars," he said.
McLaughlin added that Betdaq was also happy to continue the
Apprentice Series at Haydock Park, "supporting the jockey stars of tomorrow as
they develop their skills."
