Tapping into the growing expat Chinese community in London, the new
Hippodrome Casino has said that it would be offering quality online Asian games
to its customers.
The casino, which promises to become a hot new London gaming venue when it
opens up shortly, has signed a deal with the Swedish games developer, Mahjong
Logic, which will see the latter provide it with online mahjong and other games
which should prove attractive to the Chinese community.
The Hippodrome is physically located near Chinatown in London and is expected
to attract local clientele who seek out games that are familiar to them.
The Chief Executive Officer of Mahjong Logic, Jonas Alm said about the
London casino signing the Mahjong Logic deal: "We are excited to bring a
strong traditional casino with years of history and experience to the world of
online mahjong."
"Being located next to London's Chinatown allows our software and the game of
mahjong to become more popular to the ever growing overseas Chinese marketplace
and beyond."
Online Mahjong Offered to Hippodrome Casino Customers
The Head of Online Gaming for the Hippodrome Casino, George
Constaninou said: "The Hippodrome Casino will have a large percentage of Chinese
and Asian players who all know and love the game of mahjong."
He said that partnering with Mahjong Logic allowed the casino to
immediately offer online mahjong to its customer base and leverage its existing
player liquidity pool.
The Hippodrome Casino has been undergoing major refurbishment
and is set to open its doors this year. Management claims that this will be one
of the most elegant and contemporary casino venues in Europe.
Work started on the casino in 2009, with the intention of
restoring it to its original glory and create an international style casino.
The casino will span four floors in an historic building in
Leicester Square. Three floors will offer table games, electronic games and a
spectacular poker deck, while the top floor will consist of the VIP room, with
entry by invite only.
Hippodrome Casino Online
The Hippodrome Casino is seeking to establish both an online and
offline presence with deals such as the one struck with Mahjong Logic, as well
as a recent one signed with Media Corp Plc. for the launch of a new suite of
online gaming products. The online poker and casino games are expected to be
launched in April.
The deal with the UK Media Corp is on a revenue share basis and
should generate up to £12 million in cash deposits in the first year alone.
Sports betting and bingo are also scheduled for release later in
the year.
