Irish sports betting giant, Paddy Power, has announced the addition of
executives Danny Russell and Robin Auld to its rapidly growing marketing team,
starting in October this year.
Auld will take up the job as Brand Director of Paddy Power, while Russell
will be the gambling group's new Insight Director. Both will report to Paddy
Power's Marketing Director, Christian Woolfenden.
Pair Come with Plenty of Experience
Robin Auld served as Sales and Marketing Director for Domino's UK, as well as
a non executive director for Deliverance Limited and Franchise Brands Worldwide.
His most recent post was with Domino's Germany as the group's Director for Sales
Danny Russell, meanwhile, joins Paddy Power from BSkyB, where he served as
the group's Marketing Strategy Director, responsible for market, consumer and
content research. He was also responsible for competitor intelligence, customer
engagement and more.
Speaking about hiring the new Paddy Power executives, Christian
Woolfenden said: "Danny and Robin are hugely experienced, innovative and
creative individuals with outstanding track records in a variety of different
companies, brands and sectors."
"These are exciting times for the Paddy Power brand as we enter new markets
and continue to develop in our existing markets," he said. "We now have an
exceptional and expanding team that is capable of building on the unique,
entertaining and extremely effective campaigns that we have become known for."
Paddy Power Continues Hiring Drive
The hiring of Danny Russell and Robin Auld is the latest in Paddy Power's
continuing drive to carry out its policy of 'bringing new blood' into the firm.
Last month Paddy Power hired a new Head of Sportsbook Marketing, when it
lured Mark Singleton over from Proctor and Gamble, as well as hired Claire
Davies as head of Public Relations and Media.
With growing competition in the world of online sports betting, combined with
Paddy Power's ongoing expansion into various global gaming markets, the group
needs a strong and high functioning marketing team.
Paddy Power has recently come out with a host of new marketing promotions,
such as the launch of new text betting service, as well as the creation of a
£25K bet on Facebook on big fixture games.
