On the weekend, the EuroMillions Lottery yielded the 8th UK jackpot winner
for 2012, who has still not come forward, but has joined the growing ranks of
instant lotto millionaires by scooping a whopping £37 million.
UK National Lottery operator Camelot is now waiting for the lucky player to
step up and claim their life-changing prize. In fact, it is not known whether
the winning EuroMillions Lottery ticket holder is a single player, a couple or a
syndicate.
The latest UK EuroMillions lottery win is the 14th largest jackpot
ever won in the country, and the winning numbers in Friday's draw were 13, 15,
30, 35, 45 and Lucky Numbers 4 and 6.
A spokesman for the National Lottery expressed delight for the latest win:
"This is amazing," he said. "Just a month after Adrian and Gillian Bayford
scooped £148 million, we have another UK ticket holder banking the EuroMillions
jackpot."
Extraordinary Year for UK Lottery Players
The spokesman called this year an "extraordinary year" for UK ticket holders.
"This is the eighth EuroMillions jackpot to be won on these shores in 2012."
"This new jackpot winning ticket holder now sits 14th on the exclusive
National Lottery Rich List," he added. "Our Winner Services team is on hand
ready to validate the ticket and pay out the prize, and of course we have plenty
of champagne on ice."
The spokesman said that over 2,900 people have become millionaires since the
National Lottery was launched and, to date, players have raised an incredible
£28 billion for National Lottery Good Causes.
Past UK Lottery Winners
The latest EuroMillions winner joins other lucky players who became instant
millionaires multiple times over this year, such as:
- Last month's winners, Gillian and Adrian Bayford, who won the second
biggest jackpot ever seen in the United Kingdom, taking home £148 million.
- In March, a consortium of Northmaptonshire bus drivers pooled a £38
million prize.
- Anonymous winners won £22.1 million in March and £46.4 million in
February.
- Cassey Carrington and Matt Topham, a pair of 22 year olds, took home
£45.1 million in February.
- Gareth and Catherine Bull from Mansfield, won £40 million in January
this year.
- A player from Hertfordshire who won £63.8 million in June has still not
come forward to claim the prize.
