Betting on the upcoming US presidential election is getting hotter and more
exciting than ever, particularly as the two candidates are currently so close in
the polls.
In fact, according to a recently released polling by USA Today/Gallup, the
foreign policy debate session between Mitt Romney and Barack Obama has been
declared to be a tie.
Obama's excellent second and third debate performances, which have assisted
him in recovering from his poor first debate, have been found to be his
strongest.
Nearly 95% of the Democrats declared him to be the winner at the end of the
third debate although 70% of the Republicans felt that Mitt Romney did better.
However, the Independent definitely thought Obama's performance to be
superior. Considering the overall results of the previous two debates, around
46% of American adults consider Mitt Romney to be the winner while 44% said that
Barack Obama is the winner.
Speaking about the developments, Mitchell McKinney of Missouri University
told USA Today that the "debates don't work in a cumulative fashion in a sense
of adding up the pluses and minuses per candidate per debate."
She went on to say that the first debate actually has the biggest effect
because that is the first time the performance of the two is simultaneously seen
and compared.
