Despite drawing his Night Four match in the 2013 Premier League Darts,
Phil "The Power" Taylor, the 7/4 favourite to win the prestigious UK darts
tournament, is unsurprisingly already leading the way.
Taylor had a comfortable 6-4 lead against James Wade, when the left hander
won the last two rounds to level the score. After the match Taylor said that he
was playing with a new set of darts that he had just received the previous day.
"I like the darts, they feel good and they're nice, so with a bit of match
practice in the next couple of weeks I'll improve, but I'm pleased with a draw
tonight," revealed Taylor.
2013 Premier League Darts Night 5
This week the 2013 Premier League Darts moves to the Capital FM Arena in
Nottingham. The fixtures on Thursday March 7 are as follows.
James Wade vs. Robert Thornton
Raymond van Barneveld vs. Andy Hamilton
Adrian Lewis vs. Michael van Gerwen
Phil Taylor vs. Gary Anderson
Wes Newton vs. Simon Whitlock
Ladbrokes is an online betting site that darts punters often use to place
wagers. It has posted odds for the Night Five fixtures in the Premier League
Darts competition. These are as follows.
James Wade 6/5, Robert Thornton 11/8, Draw 7/2
Raymond van Barneveld 8/13, Andy Hamilton 11/4, Draw 4/1
Adrian Lewis 4/1, Michael van Gerwen 2/5, Draw 9/2
Phil Taylor 3/10, Gary Anderson 11/2, Draw 5/1
Wes Newton 2/1, Simon Whitlock 5/6, Draw 7/2
If results go according to form then van Barneveld, van Gerwen and Taylor
should maintain their positions in the top four. Wade is expected to displace
Thornton and consolidate his claim for a place in the playoffs.
Phil "The Power" Taylor's Secret to Success
Though it may not appear so, fitness is as much a necessity for a darts
player as it is for any other sports person. A disciplined fitness regime has
enabled Phil Taylor to continue dominating the professional darts scene. At the
beginning of the 2013 season Taylor said, "I didn't want to hit 55 and have a
heart attack."
He follows a healthy living plan devised by nutritionist and fitness expert
Laura Church which ended his life of endless fry-ups and added exercise. Phil
said in an interview that he is a lot fitter and sharper and that his
concentration levels are up and his alertness has increased.
