It seems amazing that Pakistan are invited to play in this world cup after their recent attempts to bring the entire sport crashing down around them. Either their players are constantly cheating or their fans will ambush opposition teams and shoot them. What is the upside of keeping Pakistan in the ICC?

At the 2007 world cup this team of rogues conspired to lose to Ireland, in one of the biggest betting upsets of all time. In a complete coincidence the next day their coach was found dead in his hotel room. The official verdict was murder by manual strangulation. Then it was revised to "died of natural causes", swept under a giant rug, and forgotten about.

Pakistan were an honourable bunch of fellows once again, and we should all feel comfortable betting on their games. That won't happen, because if they do start to play well some bookmaker will simply bribe them to chuck it in against Kenya or Ireland or Canada. So, expect Pakistan to exit early without grace, and for heaven's sake don't bet on them.
