Sri Lanka Cricket Betting Preview
The money is coming for Sri Lanka to win it all, and there are good reasons for "investor confidence" in this team. For one thing, they will be playing on surfaces that suit their game and a lot of their matches will be in front of an enthusiastic home crowd. Sri Lanka won the world cup back in 1996 when they played at home, the only host nation ever to manage this in the tournament's history (a surprising and fun fact).
The 2011 Sri Lankan team is a lot stronger than the 1996 team, with a high quality mix of batsmen, bowlers, and the most precious ODI commodity, the genuine all-rounder. They have two of those in Angelo Mathews and Tissara Perera, and a host of danger men besides.
Sangakkara and Jayawardene can beat you with the bat, and Malinga, Murali, and new spinning sensation Mendis can beat you with the ball on sub-continent pitches.
I watched Sri Lanka toy with Australia in the ODI format recently, and their team balance cold make them very hard to beat, as they also have a mixture of experience and youth. Whichever team is good enough to beat Sri Lanka will win, and my feeling is that team doesn't exist in this competition.
